Honestly KTDC is the best place I’ve ever studied at. Mike is one of my favorite teachers. He has only one rule to give to his students in the IELTS level 3 course, it is to “Keep it simple, don’t try to sound so smart.” At first I thought I just had to write as many academic and advanced words as possible in order to impress the examiner, but then I realized that if I put these words in the wrong context, they really hurt my score. So I decided to heed Mike’s advice and play it safe.
What I like the most about this course is the homework. We had to do much homework, actually, especially writing the essays. Mike is a strict teacher but I like the way he pushed us beyond our own limits. Mike also told us that the only way to improve my reading skill is to read a lot.
So two months before the real test, I started to read Harry Potter and the Hunger Games in English, I also watched American TV series. Maybe these are the reasons why I felt very comfortable in the test and got such high score. Thanks KTDC for everything.”
