Put away your dictionary and smartphone and learn to read like a native speaker with Context Clues-Reading. English language learners who rely on dictionaries rarely use the vocabulary they have learned. This is because it is a very lazy and unnatural way to learn new words. While native speakers do use dictionaries they tend to use them sensibly. If they see a word they don’t understand, they try to guess its meaning from the context before consulting a dictionary.

Context Clues-Reading mean guessing the meaning of a word or phrase that you don’t know by looking at it and examining the words around it is a crucial skill that you need to develop. The surrounding words and phrases are clues which may help the reader to identify the unknown word or words. These words are context clues.
Context clues can usually be found in the nearby text. They act as signaling words or phrases that reveal the meaning of the difficult or unknown vocabulary.

meaning of a word, only use a reliable dictionary like the Cambridge or Oxford Learner Dictionaries. They are online and free. Don’t use Google Translator and be very careful using Vietnamese-English online dictionaries as there many mistakes.
Remember you only need to guess the meaning of the words that give you the answer to the question. Other words are irrelevant.
