Liam grew up in the east-coast Australian city of Brisbane, revelling in the beautiful natural environment and sporting lifestyle the city has to offer whilst fostering an expanding appreciation for languages and cultures, especially of those from Asia. This was also the city where he completed his high school education and then went on to study a BA in Journalism at Griffith University, a pioneering institution in modern Asian studies.

In 2005, after moving to Hanoi in Vietnam, Liam gained a CELTA certificate and began his teaching career before making the move to Ho Chi Minh City in 2007. Here Liam began delivering English training primarily in a corporate context, working for clients including Nike, Nestle, Sony, Coca-Cola, and HSBC, as well as providing English training courses in provincial regions throughout Vietnam as part of programs for the Prudence Foundation. In the past decade he transitioned his teaching focus to academic English education, particularly IELTS, with an approach focused on addressing individual learner needs and improving practical communication skills, helping students to reach their academic and career goals.

Within his lessons, Liam aims to foster a comfortable yet hard-working and productive communicative classroom environment for students, where they can progress their language proficiency and confidence in an engaging, collaborative, and enjoyable setting.
