Đề bài

The diagram below shows the process for producing and recycling paper. 

Provide an overview of the information by identifying and describing the key details, and include comparisons where appropriate.

1. Analyze the Visual Data (4 minutes)

  • Break Down the Structure (1 minute):
    • Identify the type of visual data (e.g., graph, chart, table, diagram).
    • For graphs: Note categories, labels, axes, time periods, or units.
    • For tables: Examine columns, rows, and key figures.
    • For diagrams: Identify stages, processes, or components (e.g., arrows, labels).
  • Identify Key Features and Contrasts (2 minutes):
    • Look for overall trends (e.g., increases, decreases, cycles in graphs; sequential stages in processes).
    • Spot unique features (e.g., outliers, steady trends, distinct stages).
    • Highlight contrasts (e.g., highest vs. lowest values, differences between categories, start vs. end of a process).
  • Select Impactful Data Points (1 minute):
    • Prioritize significant changes or extreme values (e.g., largest increase, most notable stage).
    • Avoid minor details unless they contribute to the main trend or comparison.

2. Plan the Response Structure (2 minutes)

  • Introduction (30 seconds):
    • Paraphrase the prompt (e.g., “The chart shows” → “The diagram illustrates”).
    • Mention the main focus (e.g., trends over time, a process, comparisons).
  • Overview (1 minute):
    • Summarize 2–3 key trends or features without specific data (e.g., “The process involves several stages,” “Production and recycling are interconnected”).
    • Use general comparative language (e.g., “a clear cycle,” “distinct stages”).
  • Detailed Paragraphs (30 seconds):
    • Plan 2 paragraphs:
      • Paragraph 1: Describe the first half of the process or main trend.
      • Paragraph 2: Cover the remaining process, recycling loop, or comparisons.

3. Write the Response (12 minutes)

  • Introduction (2 minutes):
    • Write 1–2 sentences paraphrasing the prompt in a formal tone.
  • Overview (2 minutes):
    • Write 2 sentences summarizing the main features or stages.
  • Detailed Paragraphs (6 minutes):
    • Paragraph 1 (3 minutes): Describe the first part of the process or trend with specific details.
    • Paragraph 2 (3 minutes): Cover the remaining process or comparisons, focusing on the recycling loop or key differences.
  • Use Linking Devices: Use words like “firstly,” “subsequently,” “in contrast,” or “finally” to ensure flow.

4. Review and Edit (2 minutes)

  • Check for grammatical accuracy (e.g., verb tenses, subject-verb agreement).
  • Ensure clarity and coherence (e.g., logical flow, appropriate linking words).
  • Verify that the word count is between 150 and 200 words.

Bài mẫu IELTS Writing Task 1 Diagram 8.0+

The diagram illustrates the process of producing paper and its subsequent recycling. The process involves two main cycles, namely paper production, which involves a number of steps, and recycling, which efficiently reuses waste paper. Notably, both cycles are interdependent, as recycled paper re-enters the production process.

Regarding the production cycle, trees are felled, after which the bark is removed in a drum. The debarked wood is then chipped into smaller pieces before going on to the pulping stage. During pulping, which is conducted in a refiner, wood chips are transformed into pulp, a crucial material for paper-making. Subsequently, the pulp is pressed and rolled into paper, ready for printing newspapers.

In the recycling phase, used newspapers are collected and subjected to de-inking, in which ink is removed to produce clean pulp. This recycled pulp is then reintroduced into the pulping stage, seamlessly integrating with the production cycle. This process helps reduce waste and conserve natural resources.

The diagram shows the steps for making paper and recycling it. The process has two parts: making paper from wood and recycling old paper. Both parts are connected because recycled paper goes back to the making process.

First, trees are cut down. Then, the bark is taken off in a drum, and the wood is cut into small pieces. After that, the wood pieces go to a machine called a refiner to make pulp. This pulp is pressed and rolled to make paper, which is used for printing newspapers.

In the recycling part, people collect used newspapers. The ink is removed from the paper to make clean pulp. This pulp goes back to the refiner to make new paper. The process is good because it uses old paper again and helps save trees. It shows how making paper and recycling work together.
