Recruitment: Academic Manager

KTDC IELTS is looking for: 01 Academic Manager Provide leadership and oversight for all academic operations, including teacher recruitment, training, performance management, curriculum, testing, and student support. The Academic Manager ensures academic excellence, operational efficiency, and alignment with KTDC’s strategic goals.

1. Job Description:

1.1 Recruitment & Onboarding:

• Plan and manage teacher recruitment to meet academic standards and operational needs.
• Lead the full hiring process: screening, interviews, demo lessons, and evaluations.
• Develop and maintain recruitment SOPs, interview tools, and observation criteria.
• Develop and maintain the Teacher Handbook.
• Deliver a 6-hour onboarding training covering:
  • Company introduction
  • IELTS methodology
  • LMS, EBM & AI systems
  • Writing, speaking, reading modules
  • Classroom management & KTDC standards

1.2 Academic Leadership:

• Oversee daily academic operations and teaching quality.
• Supervise and support 10–12 teachers.
• Manage curriculum development, annual updates, and teaching materials.
• Oversee testing systems (placement, mock, mid-term, final), compliance of test materials.
• Drive academic innovation, including AI, LMS, and AI integration.

1.3 Teacher Management & Performance:

• Assign classes based on teacher capability and operational needs.
• Manage teaching schedules, leave coordination, and class coverage.
• Conduct regular teacher observations (every 6–12 months).
• Monitor teaching quality, marking accuracy, and academic compliance.
• Provide structured feedback and development plans.

1.4 Training & Professional Development:

• Develop and execute an annual teacher training roadmap.
• Deliver quarterly and skill-based training sessions.
• Oversee peer observation and mentorship programs.
• Develop and manage a performance management system, including:
  • Performance standards and evaluation
  • Salary progression criteria
  • Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
  • Manage underperformance through coaching, documentation, and follow-up.

1.5 Academic Quality & Student Support:

• Monitor student progress, satisfaction, and learning outcomes.
• Oversee academic support and intervention for at-risk students or classes.
• Ensure timely academic responses to students, parents, and PCS.

1.6 Cross-Functional Collaboration & Reporting:

• Work with GM, BOM, HR, PCS, Marketing, and Operations on academic matters.
• Support academic input for marketing content and external partnerships.
• Submit academic reports:
  • Weekly: Teaching quality, key issues
  • Monthly: Training, student performance, curriculum updates
  • Quarterly: KPIs, staff development, LMS/AI adoption

1.7 Technology & Innovation:

• Collaborate with tech partners on LMS and AI development.
• Provide academic input for new product launches.
• Lead teacher training for new academic technologies.

2. Job Requirement:

• Native-level English speaker (USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand passport).
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• CELTA / Trinity / MA TESOL preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in teaching or academic management.
• IELTS teaching experience required.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Culturally sensitive with strong interpersonal abilities.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
