Ursula graduated with a 1st Class Honours Degree from the University of Kent in one of the top 5 drama courses in the UK. She was voted president of the drama society where she explored world theatre and organised various community projects. During her time at university she also supported students from all over the globe at the prestigious English National Ballet School.
After graduating, Ursula moved to London and trained to work as a croupier in casinos where she stayed for 5 years and met people from all over the world. It was here where her interest in teaching English began, as she often found herself supporting her international colleagues in developing their English skills through speaking, reading and writing. After a while she realised that helping people with English was more rewarding than her casino job, and decided to pursue a career in teaching.
In May 2015, Ursula went to Prague in the Czech Republic to achieve her CELTA qualification. She enjoyed immersing herself in a different culture so much she decided to move abroad permanently to teach English as a second language.
Teaching in Vietnam appealed to Ursula because everyone had told her the country was beautiful, the people were friendly and the food was delicious. In the past 3 years of teaching English in Ho Chi Minh City Ursula has been able to confirm these things for herself! However, more importantly she admires the dedication of Vietnamese students to learn English. By learning English, students are changing their lives and doing so takes a lot of hard-work, drive and determination. It is because of this that she is so passionate about supporting her students in any way she can and is looking forward to helping you achieve your goals at KTDC.
In her free time, Ursula loves to read novels, watch movies and do craft-work. She also enjoys travelling around Vietnam and other parts of South East Asia and knows she is lucky to be living in such a beautiful part of the world.
